Vancouver is not a cheap city, but a good date does not need to cost much. The water, the views and the walks are free. These ideas keep the pressure and the bill low.
Walk a stretch of the seawall
The seawall runs 28 km from the Vancouver Convention Centre to Spanish Banks. Walkers and joggers use the path nearest the water, with cyclists and skaters on the inside. It is busiest on sunny weekends, so go early or midweek for a quieter walk.

Ride the SeaBus to Lonsdale Quay
The SeaBus is a passenger ferry from Waterfront Station to Lonsdale Quay, and the crossing takes about 12 minutes. A transit fare covers it, and a Compass Card or a tap of your bank card works at the gates. Walk along the North Shore waterfront, then ride back for the city view.
